British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital comes as the sports world offered sympathy for the star in the following the heartbreaking incident.
