Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
