The distinguished UK star Mirren, already recipient of an Oscar statuette, multiple Bafta awards, Globes trophies, multiple Emmy accolades, plus a Tony, will soon add another major award to her shelf: the DeMille Globes' lifetime achievement award.

Dame Helen, octogenarian, who was honored as a dame back in 2003 and honored as a BAFTA fellow in 2014, will receive the accolade in a ceremony on 8 January, three days before the Golden Globes main event occur, during a program described by the Golden Globes as Golden Eve.

Additionally featuring the bestowal of the Golden Globes’ Carol Burnett award for television achievement, the recipient of which is still to be revealed. The prior year’s honorees were Viola Davis along with Ted Danson.

“Dame Helen represents a force of nature, and her career is absolutely remarkable,” stated Helen Hoehne, Helen Hoehne. “Her brilliant portrayals and devotion to her art continue to inspire numerous actors and fans too. We are deeply honored to present her with the DeMille prize.”

Professional Journey

Helen Mirren became well-known back in the 70s with key roles in theater in London’s theater district and with the Royal Shakespeare Company as well as in movies like O Lucky Man!, Caligula and The Long Good Friday.

During the nineties, her lead performance in the investigative show Prime Suspect broadened her fanbase further. Additional notable movies feature Excalibur, The Madness of King George, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, Gosford Park & Calendar Girls.

She received an Oscar for her portrayal as Queen Elizabeth II in 2006 film The Queen, a character she reprised back in 2013 in The Audience, the stage production by Peter Morgan concerning the sessions with the Queen and prime minister Margaret Thatcher, a role for which she earned a Tony during 2015.

• More recent films include Hitchcock, The Last Station, Woman in Gold, The Debt, Golda & Barbie, which she narrated.
• Her performance in the streaming adaptation for The Thursday Murder Club has garnered acclaim with award talk is building about her portrayal as a dying matriarch in Winslet’s initial directorial project, Goodbye June.
• In the coming year, she will appear portraying Patricia Highsmith in Corbijn’s dramatic film, Switzerland.

Golden Globe nods will be announced December 8, featuring Anderson’s One Battle After Another, Chloé Zhao’s Hamnet and Coogler’s Sinners anticipated to be prominent.
