The Mighty Nein, the newest animated adventure by the beloved role-playing group, revealed a new opening credits. It showcases our favorite group of outcasts, outcasts, and criminals kicking ass and making their mark, while teasing at multiple heart-wrenching backstories for characters including the voice actor's mage Caleb, and another actor's orc warlock, Fjord.

All in all, the intro looks stunning. But I couldn't help feeling that something was lost in the music selection.

This sequence uses "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional composition created by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. This piece from the soundtrack album of that title, the second one released by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label their music brand. It's a wonderful sentimental choice, and I believe that fans of the second campaign will love its presence.

Personally, The series' opening fails to capture the hype and energy that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by singer-songwriter the artist, was an instant classic for me when it was initially unveiled in 2015, and it only got better when cast member the performer added lyrics to the tune for the series' animated intro in the later year.

Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, another performer, a co-star, as well as the writer, the song was memorable and fun. At the time, I hadn't even watched the follow-up series at that point, but it was so infectious that I still saved it on my device. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an installment of fantasy hijinks.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "the new song" doesn't strike the right notes for me. It's a grand piece of music, but based on my understanding of this party, I can't help but feel that its tone is a little off.

Naturally, the creators has already said that the series will have a few surprises and variations from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its opening appears as one of them.
