Trump Organization Attempted to Hire Nearly 200 Employees on Work Permits in 2025

Donald Trump’s family business increased its hiring of foreign workers on short-term work permits this year, while his administration was placing obstacles for other companies wanting to do the same, a report released recently claimed.

Based on data from the federal labor department, the Trump Organization sought to hire at least 184 overseas employees in the coming year for short-term roles at the US president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his Virginia winery.

The number of requests for H-2A and H-2B visas for workers including servers, office assistants, housekeepers, kitchen staff and agricultural laborers was the highest ever filed by the organization, and up from over 120 in 2021, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that the former president had sought to bring in more than 100 overseas workers for temporary positions at Mar-a-Lago, based on available data.

The disclosure coincides with a tightening on legal immigration by his government that has involved the implementation of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; increased review of the activities of the 55 million people who possess US visas; and tighter regulations for foreign students and reporters.

In total, the business aimed to hire 566 foreign laborers over the five years Trump has been in the White House, from his first term and during the upcoming year.

Significantly, Trump was questioned by certain in the Republican party this period for comments justifying the need for foreign workers when a business was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill particular roles.

“You can’t just say a nation is entering, going to spend billions to build a plant, and going to recruit individuals off an jobless roster who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start producing their missiles. It isn’t feasible that effectively,” he told a host after it was implied that overseas employees undercut the pay of American employees.

The White House declined a inquiry for comment, and the business did not immediately respond to an request for information.
